Green Fur Kidz, Inc (GFK) is looking for families that are ready to make a commitment to loving & caring for a foster dog until he or she can find his or her forever home. Please be aware that if you ask us to pull a dog for you to foster from a shelter & you can not, for whatever reason, keep the dog & we can not find another foster home & then your dog has to go into boarding, we will require you to pay for 100% of the boarding fees.  This is actually in our volunteer manual, but we are making any potential foster home aware of this bylaw now before you apply to foster.  By electronically signing this application, you agree to pay for all boarding fees should you not be able to keep your foster dog

We ask only that you provide the general daily basics - food, water, treats, bowls, toys, bedding, crate (if needed) & lots of love.  Most of these things foster families already have since they have or have had dogs in their home.  We will be happy to give a donation letter for all items purchased for your foster dog... just save your receipts & send them in for a donation letter.  All veterinarian bills & any training will be provided by GFK.

Lastly, before applying, please make sure you are ready to take on whatever task your foster dog may present & that you do not have a vacation/time away from home scheduled that you can not provide a home for your foster dog as we do not have funds for boarding our fosters.  We are strictly volunteer home based only.

Fostering for Green Fur Kidz, Inc. (GFK)

Fostering for GFK is a little bit different than probably most rescue groups.  We were started by a group of rescuers, who spent years fostering for different groups so we know what it's like to be at the center of the real reason for rescue - changing the path of each dog's life. 

We strive to help our foster families find the best homes possible for their fosters & we allow our foster families to take charge of their foster's care - medically & behaviorially.  If ever needed, we use APDT certified trainers as we believe in training dogs with positivity.  Whatever your foster dog needs, you will be provided & you can work one on one with your region's Foster Manager.
